Meeniyan

Nestled amongst the lush green hills of South Gippsland, Meeniyan is a picturesque village with a lively character and a reputation for excellent food, music and local creativity. Known as the “turning point” to Wilsons Promontory, Meeniyan sits at the junction where travellers can continue towards Foster or turn south towards Fish Creek and the Prom. The town is also known as the music capital of South Gippsland, with the historic Meeniyan Town Hall regularly hosting live music, performances, markets and community events. The Great Southern Rail Trail passes directly through the town, providing a scenic way to explore the surrounding farmland and connecting Meeniyan with Koonwarra, Fish Creek and the wider South Gippsland region. Nearby wetlands and the Meeniyan Bird Hide provide opportunities to enjoy the area's native birdlife, while Wilsons Promontory, the South Gippsland coast and numerous local farms and food producers are all within easy reach.
